Install and rig sound equipment, including speakers, microphones, amplifiers, and audio processing units
Securely hang and rig audio equipment from trusses, scaffolding, and overhead structures using appropriate rigging techniques.
Conduct sound checks, optimize audio quality, and troubleshoot technical issues during live events.
Collaborate with sound engineers and production teams to achieve desired audio effects and clarity
Ensure all equipment is safely installed, maintained, and operated according to health and safety regulations
Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and storage of audio and rigging equipment
Adhere to safety protocols, particularly when working at heights or handling heavy equipment.
Maintain clear communication with other team members to coordinate setup and dismantling procedures.
Requirements
Proven experience as a sound rigger or in a similar audio/technical role.
Strong knowledge of sound equipment, audio systems, and rigging techniques.
Relevant certifications in rigging (e.g Entertainment Technician Certification Program - ETCP) and safety (e.g., Working at Heights, First Aid).
Ability to operate audio consoles, mixing boards, and audio processing equipment.
Physical fitness and ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting heavy equipment and working at heights.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of digital and wireless audio systems.
Familiarity with live event production and stage setup.
Basic understanding of acoustics and sound design
